You can be okay even when someone you love isn’t.
You can’t control everything that happens in your life.
You can decide what gets to define it.

A DIFFERENT WAY OF LOOKING AT CONTROL
You may not be able to change what is happening around you.
But you can change how you respond to it.
Self-empowerment begins when we stop focusing on changing what we cannot control and turn our attention to what we can.

WHAT I BELIEVE
It is okay to be okay even when someone you love isn’t
Boundaries are about changing our behavior — not controlling theirs.
Sacrificing your peace does not give someone else peace.
Joy isn’t something that comes when the struggle is over. We have to seek it out even during the struggle.
YOUR LIFE. YOUR RESPONSE. YOUR CHOICE
We can be in charge even when we are not in control.
We can’t control everything that happens around us, and we can’t control the choices other people make.
But we can control what we focus on, what we choose to believe and how we respond to what goes on around us, and how we respond to other people’s behaviors.
Staying in charge of these things shapes how we experience our lives.
YOU HAVE TO FIND THE JOY.
When life gives us a lot of bad stuff, we have to intentionally seek out the good.
It’s easy to focus on bad things because fear is a strong emotion. It’s also a problem when we allow fear to consume us.
We have to seek joy with intention—not to deny the bad things, but to acknowledge that there are good things too.
We have to seek out joy to balance the weight of the hard things.
